Houghton slumped to a 50-12 at Medicals in Durham and Northumberland Division Two on Saturday.
The Dairy Lane men – forced into seven changes for a variety of reasons – could not cope with the well-drilled younger hosts' pace, which told with a series of overlaps.

Graham Hughes and Andy Nichols notched consolation tries for Houghton, with full-back David Bains adding a conversion.

Despite winning just one of their first five games, Houghton have three teams below them in the table – winless Ponteland, North Shields and West Hartlepool TDSOB, who have had four points deducted.

Houghton have no game this weekend but are looking to have squad game against a team yet to be decided.

* Bottom club Durham City slipped to an agonising 17-14 defeat at Pontefract in North Two East to suffer a fifth successive loss.
