Reid pulls out with injury
SUNDERLAND midfielder Andy Reid is out of the Republic of Ireland's training camp in Portugal after injuring his hamstring in training yesterday.
And he may yet be a doubt for the Republic's May 24 friendly against Serbia at Croke Park, Dublin.
Reid (right) limped out of training in Malahide yesterday and was immediately withdrawn from the flight to the Algarve.
Clubmates Daryl Murphy, Liam Miller and Paul McShane remain with the squad who made the flight last night.
Yesterday was Giovanni Trapattoni's second training session since becoming Ireland boss.
He said: "The players have the enthusiasm and the willingness to play.
"We will look at their conditioning (in the Algarve) and we have two friendly games arranged so we can check their form.
"We will know from that if they need more training or less training. This is because they have come in after the year's campaign.
"This is important so that we can arrive at the games against Serbia and Columbia in good shape."
Ireland take on Columbia at Fulham's Craven Cottage on May 29.
