Sunderland have received a boost with news that Kenwyne Jones is fit and back in training.
The on-form striker gor through last Saturday's game against Fulham despite not having trained in the week previously.
Cats boss Roy Keane said: "We asked Kenwyne to get through that game, knowing that we weren't risking a real injury and the worst he would have would be aches and strains in the couple of days afterwards.
"He was superb for us against Fulham but because of his efforts he didn't train Monday, which was only to be expected.
"He has joined in training though for the rest of the week and he looks in good shape now which is great for us because he's been a very important player to us in recent weeks."
