SUNDERLAND target Stephen Hunt says he won't ask to leave relegated Reading.
The Black Cats failed with a £5million January offer for the Republic of Ireland winger.
He went on to sign an improve deal that ties him to the Royals until 2011.
Though the 26-year-old admits there is a get-out clause in the contract, he ha
s not plans to force his departure from the Madejski Stadium.
Hunt – set to take a big wage cut as a result of Reading's tumble from the Premier League – said: "There is a (get-out) clause, but I'm happy at Reading and I'm grateful to them for what they have done for me.
"I'm not going to sit here and do a Jermain Defoe on it and say I want to leave.
"They have been very good to me and, until I'm told otherwise, I'll still do my best for them."
Sunderland's pursuit of Hunt became something of a saga as Reading boss Steve Coppell complained about the Black Cats doing their transfer business in public – despite Keane and senior staff at the club actually revealing nothing.
It's perhaps no surprise that Hunt has insisted he won't demand a move.
Most players' contracts contain a loyalty clause which means they receive a payment if they are sold by a club without making a transfer request.
