Sunderland gymnast Jesse Heskett could be forgiven for jumping head over heels with delight right now.
For the 15-year-old has just won a clean sweep of gold medals at the European Age Games as part of a Great Britain acrobatic gymnastic team that exceeded all expectations.

Jesse was part of a Men's Four competing at junior level (under 19) which came first in the balance routine, first in the dynamic routine and first in the coveted combined routine.

Two years ago, the quartet won a bronze medal at the same competition at under 16 level – an achievement which in itself was worthy of note against the top talent of Eastern Europe and Russia.

But that effort was put into the shade by their recent performance at this year's Europeans, held in Portugal.
