The £9million British record signing for a keeper was dropped to the substitutes' bench for the crunch game against Derby County earlier this month.

Latest Premier League video highlights.Darren Ward stepped in and kept a clean sheet. He remained in the side for the game against Chelsea last week but it remains to be seen who Keane will select for Saturday's clash with Aston Villa at the Stadium of Light.
For Gordon, it has been a time for reflection and resolve.
The 24-year-old said: "It was disappointing not to be in the side for the Derby game. If you are fit, you want to play and I'm no different to anyone else in the squad in that respect.
"The Everton game previously was very disappointing for everyone at the club and the manager decided he was going to make some changes – I was one of them.
"Now I've got to try to get myself back in the team. You have got to pick yourself up and get on with it.
"I've thought a lot about it but you can't let it get you down, you've got to bounce back and the only way you can do that is by doing your best in training every single day."
Certainly there is no friction between Gordon and the man who replaced him between the posts.
The Scottish international said: "I wished Darren all the best when he went in. I train with him every day and I want him to do well because we're all in this together.
"The Derby game held mixed emotions for me because I'd be lying if I said I was happy not to be out there when we beat Derby.
"It was a game we had to win, no matter what, and we got that win. I was happy for the lads and for the supporters because it was a vital victory but obviously you want to be involved in games like that. "
Now Gordon is looking forward to this weekend's game and the prospect that he might be asked to step back into the firing line for the visit of Aston Villa.
He said: "We're looking forward to Saturday's game and hopefully we can keep our decent record at home going. We've done reasonably well at the Stadium of Light and managed to pick up a few points but the fans are vital because they have a lot to do with the fact that we are decent at home.
"It has not happened for us away yet even though we do have a fantastic following. But the supporters really helped us through it against Derby and I'm sure they'll do the same against Villa and I hope to be involved."
If not this weekend, Gordon has every chance of being called on in a busy festive period in which Roy Keane is likely to make the most of the squad system.
The 6ft 4in keeper said: "We'll be tested, but we've got the players and the quality to get a good amount of points over the Christmas period to take us higher in the league.
"There are a lot of big games and we'll try to pick up as many points as we can, especially at home and as far as the Villa game goes, I'm fairly confident we can win on Saturday."
