Russell Meek dispatched of pairs partner Andy King 5-2. King led with a 19 darter but bus driver Meek had two excellent 18 darters a 180 and a 96 finish to seal victory.

Carl "Cool Hand" Cook edged out John Turnbull in a tight affair, Turnbull having winning legs in 20 and 21 darts but his opponent too the honours, including a fantastic 15 dart leg.

Paul Williams stayed top with a 5-0 victory over second-bottom John MacPherson, but Turnbull made amends by defeating Andy King, showing glimpses of the form that once saw him rise to 40th in the BDO's world rankings with stunning checkouts of 86 on the bullseye and a winning 70 outshot

Eric Whitfield piled on the misery for MacPherson with a whitewash that included an excellent 15 darter and a 101 checkout.

MacPherson's night of woe was complete when he managed a 180 against Chris Bolam, only for Bolam to reply in kind during a 5-1 win.

In the First Division, Marco Laybourne produced a 180, winning legs in 15, 17 and 20 darts and brilliant checkouts of 60, 76 and 110 to move back up to third with a 5-0 victory against luckless Alan King.

Neil Hardy also kept up his promotion hopes with a 5-1 victory over Dalton Meek, while Craig Ryan came out on top in a nailbiting match with fellow top-placed man Lee Rump.

Rump did well to come back and force a final leg decider with an array of checkouts including 64, 86 and 76 only for "Goldust" Ryan to seal victory in 19 darts.

Jordan Cook also edged a nine-leg thriller against Darren Johnston, who had legs in 18 and 19 darts.

Steve Richardson is still chasing after a 5-0 win over Paul Charters.
