Darts: Bolam brushes aside Sprake

Chris Bolam whitewashed Steven Sprake in the Thorney Close Premier Darts League with a superb display.
Bolam took two legs in 15 darts, a 16-dart leg, an 18-darter, a 129 checkout, a 96 checkout and two fantastic 180s to take the match by 5-0.

Chris Harkess lost out 5-2 to Neil Hardy despite taking the opening leg with a 103 checkout on double 18. From then on it was all Hardy a leg in 17 darts including a 180.

Jamie Scott had a winning 18 dart leg with a 70 checkout against Anth Devine but Devine took the match 5-2 with an 18-darter and an 85 checkout.

John Whelldon faced nine dart man Eric Whitfield. The match went all the way in a closely fought 4-4 draw. Whelldon took a leg in 16 darts and Whitfield had winning legs in 14 darts including a 141 checkout, 16 darts and 18 darts.

Adam Lafferty faced Dave Wyness in another epic battle with the match also being tied 4-4. Wyness had a winning leg in 17 darts.

Results: Clark Brettle 4-4 Vince Loraine, Chris Harkess 2-5 Neil Hardy, Chris Bolam 5-0 Steven Sprake, Jamie Scott 2-5 Anth Devine, John Whelldon 4-4 Eric Whitefield, Adam Lafferty 4-4 Dave Wyness, Marco Laybourn 3-5 Darren Johnston, Allan Wardropper 5-2 Tony Bryant, Dave Lowthian 5-0 Gary Richardson, Steve Richardson v Jordan Cook postponed.
