Blackburn Rovers have named Sam Allardyce as their new manager.
The club said in a statement: "Blackburn Rovers are delighted to announce the appointment of Sam Allardyce as manager with immediate effect. Sam has signed a three-year contract."

The former Newcastle boss had been strongly linked with the vacant Sunderland job after publicly stating his interest in succeeding Roy Keane.

Allardyce, 54, will be officially unveiled at a news conference at Ewood Park at 4pm tomorrow.
