Fed-up of nights in front of the telly? Then The Pemberton Arms is the place for you.
It is a relaxing and friendly pub with a lively and entertaining atmosphere and has recently been refurbished.

Situated on Stockton Road, Cold Hesledon, just off the A19.
The Pemberton Arms offers a wide range of entertainment and caters for all tastes.

On Tuesday nights, starting at 9pm, there is a general knowledge quiz costing only 50p, with a buffet provided and an opportunity to play bingo. It is a very good night out, enjoyed by all.

Every Friday night there is live music, playing anything from rock to indie to heavy metal. It starts at 9pm and there is free entry and plenty of room for you to get up and have a boogie.

And for those of you who love to sing, there is karaoke on Saturday nights.

The pub serves a great selection of home-cooked food including scampi, steak, home-made pie and curry. Meals are served weekdays from noon to 3pm and 6pm to 9pm and weekends noon to 4pm.

It also serves a traditional Sunday lunch from noon to 4pm, with a selection of meats, starters and desserts, which are very reasonably priced. A single course costs £6.50, two-course £8.95 and a three-course meal is £12.95.

There is also a bar area with comfy sofas where you can enjoy a nice drink. Prices start from £2.40 for a pint of beer, £2.60 for lager, £3.05 for a 175ml glass of wine and a half a pint of coke starts from £1.25.

And if you need cooling down, you can even order a slush, with a choice of blueberry or raspberry flavour. But maybe wait until the summer as it is cold enough this winter.

The Pemberton Arms has disabled access and is child friendly.

There is also a separate sitting area where you can sit back and watch all the major matches on the big screen or have a game of pool.

Outside there is a decked terrace where you can smoke or sit and a have drink and a chat, which is covered by umbrellas – just what you need for the unpredictable British weather.

The Pemberton Arms beats staying in any day of the week.
