A woman is in custody after being arrested in connection with an attack in a Sunderland pub.

The victim - a 23-year-old woman - suffered a facial injury when she was assaulted in the Queen Vic in Roker.

The incident happened in the pub in Harbour View at about 10.30pm on Saturday, February 25.

A 20-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assault and is in police custody.

Officers are continuing to carry out enquiries and are appealing for witnesses.
