A Sunderland man is facing jail after being convicted of two sex attacks.

Najmadeen Ali-Waice was found guilty of two counts of rape by a jury at Teesside Crown Court after denying both offences.

The 42-year-old, of Whitehall Terrace, Sunderland, now faces a lengthy prison sentence when he is sentenced at the same court on June 9.

Ali-Waice carried out the horrific rapes in Middlesbrough in early hours of July 22, 2015.

Judge Simon Bourne-Arton QC, the Recorder of Middlesbrough, released Ali-Waice on conditional bail in order for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
