Dorothy Williamson: "My husband and I are originally from Sunderland we both have pensions from the Met Police paid into our British bank account. We live in Mozambique so we deal here in Meticals and Dollars. The exchange rate can make a huge difference to us. It was our intention to retire to Europe as we could never afford to live in UK. Now that plan may be in jeopardy."

Colin Backhouse: "I live in Malta and so pleased I took the plunge. Too many things wrong in the UK."

Jane Jones: "My family and I from Sunderland live in Switzerland, a non EU country, we have a permanent home in Sunderland and I will never leave the city I grew up in. I think England will be fine, our lifestyle in Switzerland is wonderful because money is directed to where it is needed. We have to be positive, brave and willing to help all."

Stuart Dodds: "The history of our great nation, has been a constant struggle of fighting off European countries that have wanted to rule our proud island home. It's not going to be easy in the short term, but we have earned the right to be the masters of our own destiny. England needs to start doing what is best for England! I was born in Shiney Row, live in Australia."

Paul Clark: "Perth, Australia, who cares it'll affect a few people who didn't change their money over for their holidays, but in a few days everyone will have forgot about it and the world will go on anyway, not affecting anyone!"

Karen Ann King: "Surely we are 'immigrants' not ex-pats, or does that only apply to those going to the UK from other parts of Europe? As an ex-pat/immigrant currently living in France I am very disappointed at the result. With the prospect of Boris Johnson in Number 10 I think I might go and live on the moon."

Jeremy Walker: "Good evening from Macau, China, formerly of Framwellgate Moor, Durham. Disappointed. We should be a leader in Europe, but we have opted out instead. Will I need a new passport, as it says European Union at the top of mine?"

Fred Smith: "I'm moving to Paris in September and it just makes everything uncertain."

Ian Brewster: "Just because we have left the EU doesn't mean everything will change most laws and rule will probably be kept we just now have the power to use the words yes and no as we chose. As for immigration the door isn't closed to everyone who isn't British it just isn't wide open for everyone to pill through, without regulation."
