'Ghost soldiers' sing 'We are here' on wet Sunderland streets to mark Somme centenary

Those who lost their lives in the appalling conflict of the Somme were remembered with a special tribute in Sunderland.

Performers wearing First World War uniforms took to the streets around the country as part of commemorations to mark 100 years since the Battle of the Somme.
