Why carve a Halloween Jack o’lantern when you can just get in one?

As the spookiest night of the year approaches we’ve been asking readers for their Spooky Snaps - and the latest craze seems to be putting babies inside the giant vegetable.

Jemma Daniel, 28, from Shiney Row, came up with the idea of putting her 14-week-old, Scarlet Olivia Daniel, inside a pumpkin after seeing pictures of other pumpkin babies online.

The mum-of-four, who is married to Carl, 30, said: “I really like dressing her up, she’s like a little doll. And we thought it would be nice to do something for Halloween. We’d seen some pictures on the internet and decided to give it a go.”

Jemma, who is also mum to Cole, 12, Ruby-Mae, six, and Joe, five, said: “My husband carved the pumpkin, it took a couple of attempts to get it right, but then we removed the back and she fitted in perfectly.”

Teddy Terry, 25 weeks, from Easington Lane, has also been joining in the fun.

Mums Sam, 30, and Toni, 28, popped him in a pumpkin for this cute snap which they sent into the Echo.

Sam said: “We love dressing him up. First of all we dressed him as a teddy because of his name, and it went from there. As well as the pumpkin, he has another Halloween outfit we’ll be dressing him in for a charity event for Bradley Lowery.”

Teddy will be attending Saturday’s charity event, at The Victoria Inn in Easington Lane, dressed as Billy the Puppet from the hit horror film series, Saw.

There will be a children’s Halloween party from noon, with an adults’ Halloween party from 7pm. All are welcome to attend.

Funds raised will help to fund five-year-old Bradley Lowery’s potentially life-saving trip to the US as he battles neuroblastoma.
