Shopping centre Dalton Park has won an award for its car parking facilities for the 13th year in a row.
As part of the nationwide Safer Parking Scheme, the site has been awarded the prestigious Park Mark status after meeting strict standards of a rigorous assessment carried out by the police.
An additional 500 car parking spaces were created as part of the outlet shopping centre’s Phase 2 leisure development, with the latest news arriving as the centre wraps up its multimillion-pound contemporary interior refit.
Dalton Park’s 1,700-space car park was first praised for its standards in 2004 and received its Certificate of Achievement in 2014, which recognised a decade of commitment to the Safer Parking Scheme.
Jerry Hatch, centre manager at Dalton Park, said: “I would like to congratulate our hard-working team who work tirelessly to ensure Dalton Park meets the very high standards set by the Safer Parking Scheme.
“The Park Mark status gives our customers the ultimate peace of mind when parking here and we are very proud that our efforts have been recognised for the 13th year running.
“It’s an extremely exciting time for Dalton Park as we near completion on our mall enhancements, so this accolade really is the cherry on top of a fantastic, successful year here at the centre.”
The Safer Parking Scheme is a UK-wide police initiative, managed by The British Parking Association.
It is a national standard for UK car parks that have low crime and measures in place to ensure safety.
