In the first installment of a new weekly feature, we take a look at some scenes from the North East and beyond.
WELCOME to Friday Photos, a new weekly feature giving centre stage to the work of Wearside’s photographers.
Are you a keen snapper who would like their work a reach a wider audience or an eager amateur hoping to become more well known? Well, here’s your chance.
We’re on the lookout for photographers to showcase on these pages each week, whether they’re just getting started or have been at it for years, so if you would like to see your work in the Echo and on our website, see the information at the bottom of the page and get in touch.
To kick things off, we’ve got some photos from Echo deputy features editor Billy Lumsden, showing some well-known local sights, and some from further afield.
Billy, 37, who has been interested in photography for about three years, said: “This is a great chance to get your photos out there, so I’d encourage any photographers to get in touch to let everyone see their work.”
* Would you like to have your work featured in Friday Photos? If so, we’d love to hear from you. We want photos on any theme, whether it’s landscapes or portraits, events or wildlife. All you have to do is send some examples of your work, with captions, and some details about yourself – such as your age, name, occupation, interests and hobbies – plus a photograph of yourself.
Email firstname.lastname@example.org or send photos on a disc to Sunderland Echo, Friday Photos, Features Department, Echo House, Pennywell, Sunderland, SR4 9ER. Sorry, but discs can’t be returned.
IMPORTANT: We’ll only be able to print photos that are of a high resolution. Please keep this in mind before sending any work.
