RESIDENTS of a care home went wild about animals when a zoo visited them.
The elderly and disabled adults from Barnes Court handled weird and wonderful creatures from around the world in an animal therapy workshop.
Discovery Zoo took a range of creatures into the home for people to look at and touch, including guinea pigs, snakes, rabbits and tarantulas.
Activities co-ordinator at Barnes Court, Claire Lambert, said: “Our residents had a fantastic time at the workshop.
“They really enjoyed interacting with the animals and we’ve all learned lots of new and interesting facts.
“Pony and dog therapy sessions are incredible popular with our residents, so they were thrilled when we had the chance to get some more exotic creatures to come in and visit us.”
Debbie Daniels, Barnes Court manager, added: “We’re so pleased that the residents had so much fun with Discovery Zoo.
“Our animal therapy sessions are always popular activities with our residents, so we weren’t surprised that they loved taking part in the workshop and learning about these interesting creatures, and the places that they come from.”
