Star gazing event was a success
I would like to thank all members of the Sunderland Astronomical Society who gave up their Friday evening to help with the star gazing event in Northumberland Park Tynemouth, also to all the park staff, cafe staff and police and police cadets who helped with structure of the evening.
From comments received on the night from members of the public it would appear to have been a success.
We did get a chance to view the night sky for about one hour and in that time managed to focus on Orion and its many splendors also Venus, which was in a lovely slim crescent phase.

Hide AdWe also heard from our speaker who gave three talks on the evening, again lovely comments were received about the talk.
Once again many thanks to all who were involved, we hope to organise another event later in the year.
