I hope the powers-to-be at Gentoo have read Michael Dixon’s recent letter, which was an accurate critique of its current situation.
His letter also demolishes the recent rant from Julie Elliot MP that the Government is to blame for the recently announced redundancies as nothing could be further from the truth. It is insulting to the Gentoo workforce who deserve better from their local MP. She is now in a position to influence her Parliamentary colleagues on housing and planning issues and must feel very uncomfortable in criticising a policy that will benefit thousands of her constituents with significant reductions in their rents.
She might also like to remind her colleagues of the merits of Right to Buy, which so many of her fellow Labour Party members have taken advantage of over the last 35 years.
