I agree with the letter from Charles Napier regarding not so poor pensioners.
There is a misconception in this country that all OAPs are huddled behind a tartan blanket unable to pay their heating bills. I don’t dispute that there are a few in this bracket. However, if you want to see the other side of the coin many pensioners turn up at Sainsbury’s and Asda in Jags and Bentleys buying the best cuts of meat. Good luck to them, they obviously haven’t squandered their money and have invested well.
It’s the ones who blew their cash on drink, bingo and betting on the horses who are the moaners.
