FORMER X Factor finalist Ray Quinn will entertain the crowds at a star-studded night of glitz, glamour and high fashion.
Ray, who is also a Dancing on Ice champion, will join Sunderland AFC stars at the Stadium of Light next week for the Fashion Strikes charity fund-raiser.
The fashion show will see a host of first team footballers, including Fraizer Campbell and David Meyler, strut their stuff on the catwalk.
Liverpudlian Ray, who first came to public attention with his award-winning performance in TV soap Brookside, will close the event on Tuesday with a singing performance.
Ray, who was runner-up in the X Factor in 2006, said: “I’m really looking forward to putting on a show at Fashion Strikes at what looks to be a great evening of glitz and glamour.
“I’m delighted to be helping support SAFC Foundation and the work they do in their community through this event.”
Fashion Strikes will see players donning clothes from some of the world’s most prestigious fashion houses.
Guests will be welcomed with a drinks reception before moving to the stadium’s banqueting suite where they will enjoy a three-course meal, courtesy of food service wholesale distributor 3663, and an evening of entertainment in addition to the catwalk show.
Last year’s Fashion Strikes – which is now in its fourth year – raised £25,000 for SAFC Foundation which works with more than 40,000 children and young people across the North East in education, community, health and sport programmes every year.
Fenwick is providing outfits and styling the models for the catwalk show, with hairstyling by creative directors from Regis Hair & Beauty in Fenwick, and make-up by national Georgio Armani face designer Cesar and make-up artist Kate, from the exclusive Armani beauty boutique in Fenwick.
Kieran McBride, head of fashion at Fenwick, said: “This is the second year in which Fenwick will be supporting Fashion Strikes and we’re looking forward to showcasing some fantastic pieces exclusive in the North East to Fenwick.
“The fashion, along with the make-up and hair by Armani and Regis respectively, will definitely bring a touch of glamour and class to the Stadium of Light – all for a great cause.”
Susan Justice, regional account controller of 3663, added: “Businesses have a responsibility to support communities in whatever way they can and Fashion Strikes offers us the opportunity to help support those in the North East through the fantastic work of SAFC Foundation. 3663 are very proud to be supporting this fantastic event.”
