HUNDREDS of hopeful Wearsiders were given their chance to shine on stage when The X Factor auditions landed in the region.
Thousands lined up at the Metro Radio Arena to pitch their singing skills to the hit ITV talent show’s team in the hope of becoming the next winner.
North East singers have already wowed the nation after scooping The X Factor crown.
South Shields star Joe McElderry won the top title in 2009 and Little Mix, with two members from the town, came first in last year’s contest.
Phil Myers, of The X Factor, said: “We hope to find another winner here.”
