Woman tied up overnight in club raid

A WOMAN was tied up and threatened when a man broke into a club.

Police are appealing for information following the incident at The Club, in Station Road, Boldon Colliery.

It happened after the building closed on Saturday night, but the staff member was not found by a colleague until 7am on Sunday.

The raider entered the premises and threatened and tied up the 32-year-old woman. She was taken to South Tyneside District Hospital as a precaution.

The intruder was well built and wore dark clothing.

An investigation is under way to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police are appealing for witnesses who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area after 10pm on Saturday, to contact them on 101, extention 69191, or ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
