A WOMAN threatened to jump from a Sunderland bridge.
Rescue crews were called at 12.30am when the woman was spotted the woman was on the wrong side of the barriers on Queen Alexandra Bridge.
Officers from Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service and Northumbria Police attended the scene to talk her down.
She eventually climbed back over and was arrested by officers.
A spokeswoman for Northumbria Police said: “In the early minutes of Friday, November 22, police were informed of a woman on the wrong side of the barriers on the Queen Alexandra Bridge in Sunderland.
“Officers attended and spoke to the woman who returned to the right side of the barriers voluntarily.
“A 29-year-old woman has now been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.”
