A widow has lost the only pictures of her late husband after her handbag was stolen in Sunderland

Between 10.30pm and midnight on Friday, July 24, a handbag was stolen from inside an address in Lowland Close.

The black leather Jigsaw bag contained a purse which contained sentimental photographs belonging to the victim.

The photographs are of the woman’s late husband and of extreme sentimental value as she has no other copies

Enquiries are ongoing into the theft and police are appealing for the photographs to be returned or any information into the theft.

PC Claire Richardson, who is investigating the theft, said: “I would appeal for whoever has these photographs to return them as soon as possible. The victim is heartbroken that the photos of her late husband have been taken and that she may never get them back. If anyone has these photographs I’d ask that they find a way to return them back to the victim.”
