Businesses in Whitburn have been praised for helping to spread Christmas cheer with a feast of festive window displays.

A number of traders in the village decorated their front windows.

To acknowledge their efforts, Whitburn and Marsden ward members, Councillors Peter Boyack, Tracey Dixon and Joyce Welsh, donated a bottle of champagne to the trader judged to have the most festive shop window display.

Le Belle Amie Boutique and nail bar, in North Guards, was declared the winner by the rector of Whitburn Parish Church, Reverend Ian Davies, on behalf of the Whitburn Winter Festival Committee.

Coun Dixon said: “We were delighted to see businesses brightening up their windows with eye-catching displays for the festive season. Well done to La Belle Amie Boutique.”
