YOUNGSTERS had a rocking good time at a summer school in Durham City.
The sessions at Belmont Comprehensive School were organised by the School of Rock and Pop which runs schools for young wannabe rock stars throughout the country.
Tutor Andrew Meadowcroft said: “Our summer school is an exciting opportunity for kids to get off facebook and get together with other like-minded young people.
“It’s a positive activity and holding it in a school means the kids can really rock out in a way they can’t do at home.
“Each young rocker gets the chance to play one or more instruments, as well as make new friends and build their confidence.
“Each day ends with a concert for invited friends and family.”
Part of the fees for the Belmont schools will be donated to St Cuthbert’s Hospice in Merryoaks, Durham City.
