A host of festive runners took to the streets of Washington today to take part in the annual Santa fun run for charity.
Organised once again by Angie Rathbone, from Washington Running Club, the event saw runners set off from Biddick Hall Academy on Sunday wearing a variety of festive costumes.
About 20 runners- including those from Sunderland Strollers and Saltwell Harriers – took part in the run which aimed to raise vital funds for charity Hope 4 Kidz.
The charity helps disadvantaged youngsters.
Angie said was pleased with the turn out for the event and said she hopes it will raise as much as possible for the charity.
She said: “It’s better weather for it this year, as last year it was really icy.
“A lot of people take running seriously, but this is just a bit of fun to raise money for a good cause.”
