THE daughter of missing Hendon grandfather Robert Hutchinson today made an emotional appeal two weeks after the 56-year-old’s mysterious disappearance.
Paula Hutchinson, 30, says her father acted normally when she called round to his Corporation Road home, where he lives alone, on the morning of June 23.
He then spoke to Paula’s mother Pauline Watson at her home in the East End late that afternoon, but has not been seen or heard from since.
He was reported missing three days later.
“I just want to say that I love him, we all do, the whole family,” mum-of-one Paula told the Echo.
“We want him home. We want to know what’s happened to him.
“I walked down to his house for a cuppa on the morning like I usually do. He was just in a normal mood. I don’t understand what’s going on. He’s a lovely man, the nicest man you could ever know. His whole family and friends just want to know that he is safe.”
Paula, who has a brother Gavin, 34, said the disappearance has also had an effect on her son Josh, eight, who normally sees his grandad every day.
“He doesn’t really understand what’s going on,” she said. “I keep telling him he will be home soon because I’m trying to protect him, but he is starting to ask questions and says he misses his granda.”
Police have renewed their appeal to trace Mr Hutchinson and officers are urging him, or anyone who has seen him, to come forward.
He is described as white, 5ft 9in tall, stocky and with grey, short hair.
He was last seen wearing knee-length shorts and a short sleeved checked shirt.
Mr Hutchinson has an ear piercing in his left ear.
He was last seen driving a blue Nissan Micra registration number LT03 0ZJ.
