Royal Marines musicians are used to putting smiles on the faces of others – but they’re also a pretty happy bunch themselves.

And just to prove it, they’ve put together a music video to the tune of Pharrell Williams’ song Happy.

Filmed at several locations, the light-hearted clip shows many aspects of naval life.

Everybody got involved, from sailors on the flight deck of HMS Ocean to Royal Marines on the parade square in Portsmouth – and the result is a cheeky video which doesn’t fail to raise a smile.

Corporal Bugler Chris ‘Bomber’ Harris, 30, shot and edited the video.

“It was great fun getting the footage and putting it all together and it certainly seems to have been making people smile so
far,” he said.

“I was quite lucky to get some of the footage on HMS Ocean because I just turned up with the camera and asked for any people who wouldn’t mind looking like complete pillocks in a video.

“Fortunately two people had turned up late for duty that day so they were immediately volunteered.

He added: “It’s been overwhelmingly well-received and I owe a big thanks to everybody who got involved.”

Cpl Bugler Harris even managed to squeeze a cameo appearance for his family, as he and wife Kathryn, 30, appear towards the end of the video dancing with their children Holly, three, and Flora, one, pictured above.
