LUCKY neighbours on Wearside are set to share a £1million lottery win.
The Postcode Lottery prize will be split between people living in Washington’s NE37 1 area, which includes addresses in Albany Village, Blackfell, Donwell and Usworth.
Residents who entered the draw will win a share of the cash – and one specific full postcode will receive a bigger sum.
The winners will find out how much money they will get when they attend a party on Saturday, November 19.
The overall winning postcode will be revealed at the celebration.
Radio DJ and Lottery presenter Judie McCourt said: “I’m thrilled to see a North East postcode win such a huge amount of money.
“Everyone playing in the NE37 1 postcode will walk away with a cheque from our Postcode Millions party.
“Big congratulations to everyone.”
Postcodes in the North East have been lucky in the Postcode Lottery, which also raises money for good causes.
In April, people living in Billingham, were winners, with many scooping more than £40,000 each.
Jeremy Cripps, chief executive of Children North East, one of the charities which benefits said: “Many congratulations to the lucky winners in Washington.
“It’s great to have another big People’s Postcode Lottery win here in the North East.”
“It’s so easy for anyone to take part and those who play support our work here.
“We’ve received over £345,000 to date, money that makes a huge difference to children in the area.”
Organisers will reveal more details about the amounts won in Washington, and the location of the celebratory party, in the Echo and online at postcodelottery.co.uk.
