A WASHINGTON bus driver was treated for shock after a motorcyclist died following an apparent skid on ice which led to him ending up beneath the bus.
The accident happened on the B6313 Craghead Lane, in Stanley, County Durham, shortly after 9am on Saturday.
It is thought that the biker lost control after hitting an icy patch on the road and skidded into the path of the oncoming single-decker.
A spokesman for Durham Police said: “The rider of the motorcycle was trapped under the bus and pronounced dead at scene by ambulance personnel.”
