DRIVERS escaped serious injury after a high-speed crash involving an articulated lorry and a Nissan Qashqai.

Emergency services were sent to the collision at the Stoneygate junction on the A690.

The incident, at 9am yesterday, was the latest in a series of smashes there and firefighters warned drivers to take care.

Watch manager Steve Robson, from Rainton Bridge fire station, said: “I would advise drivers to look, look and look again, and be careful when you pull out.

“You’ve got to remember you’re crossing a road with drivers going in both directions at a considerable speed.”
