WORTHY causes are calling for residents’ votes to receive a cash boost.
Peterlee Scout Group and the Youth Almighty Project have made it into the final four organisations vying for a slice of Lloyds Banking Group Community Fund.
The winners will receive one of two £5,000 awards.
Residents will be able to vote for their top choice until midnight on September 9, with the winners being announced in the following weeks.
The Community Fund launched to Lloyds Banking Group colleagues to allow them to nominate local organisations they felt deserved support, ensuring the funding would go to where the need was greatest and would make the most difference.
Nominated organisations were then invited to apply to participate in the programme with the chance to be one of the four lucky organisations to be shortlisted in each of the communities.
Paul Turner, director of community and sustainable business at Lloyds Banking Group, said: “Becoming the best bank for customers means being the best bank for our communities.
“The group has 25million customers and has a clear role to play in society helping communities thrive.
“There are thousands of local organisations that inspire, support and unlock the potential of young people all across the UK.”
