A GROUP of German visitors are in Durham to discover the council’s successful work around climate change and sustainability.
The councillors are from Kreis Wesel, which has had links with County Durham since 1957, and thousands of young people from the area have benefited from visiting the country.
As a thank you to Durham County Council, the German guests will present a cheque to the Rainbow Trust, council chairman Coun Dennis Morgan’s chosen charity.
Coun Morgan said: “I am delighted that our German partner authority supports my chosen charity for this year.”
He said there were many joint projects over the last six decades, with more planned.
