WELSHMAN Roger Max started his subscription to the Football Echo more than 50 years ago – and still gets it posted to his Cardiff home today.

The 69-year-old, originally from Pembrokeshire, decided to follow Sunderland after being wooed by the skills of Clown Prince of Football Len Shackleton, who played for Sunderland in the 40s and 50s.
