UNION members have donated cash to a Wearside hospice.
Unite’s Sunderland City Council branch handed over £200 to St Benedict’s Hospice in Ryhope.
Branch secretary John Kelly said: “Our members who work within the sport and leisure area of Sunderland City Council have made an extremely generous and thoughtful gesture in deciding to have a collection and donating the money to the hospice.
“The hospice provides an essential service to the people of Sunderland and surrounding districts.
“I am sure that all of those making a donation know someone who has received the benefits from such a valued service.”
Kevin Johnston, Unite Shop Steward for Sunderland City Council Sport and Leisure staff, handed over the £200 collection to the hospice.
