GREEN-fingered enthusiasts are appealing for Wearsiders to try their hand at floral arts.
Sunderland Floral Art Club is creating a display for this weekend’s Sunderland Horticultural Show at the Seaburn Centre.
And non-club members are being invited to enter into the individual Floral Art Section of the event.
Pam Jameson, events organiser for Sunderland Floral Art Club, said: “We’re encouraging people to take part in the individual section to boost the floral side the show.
“You can use flowers from your garden, it doesn’t have to cost much. There’s a lot of scope to be creative as long as it sits within one of the titles.”
Sunderland Floral Art Club, which meets on the third Tuesday of each month at Royalty Theatre, is one of many groups and individuals who will be turning the Seaburn Centre into a sea of flowers and produce this weekend.
There are more than 80 different classes in the show, including children’s classes.
Deputy Mayor of Sunderland, councillor Barry Curran, is presenting prizes to the class winners at the Seaburn Centre on Sunday at 2pm.
