THE FAMILY of a man who penned about a book about his wartime experiences will be signing copies of the publication in a city bookshop.
George Russell Elder, who wrote From Geordie Land to No Mans Land, died in 1980.
His family will be at Waterstones, in The Bridges, on Sunday, November 11, from noon until 2pm to sign copies of the book.
Published last year, it tells of experiences George endured whilst serving in the Army during World War One.
George wrote the book to tell his family, friends and other readers of the real life events which took place during his time in the trenches.
A donation from each book sold will be given to ABF, The Soldiers’ Charity.
