A teenage motorcyclist is in hospital with serious leg injuries after colliding with two cars.

The 16-year-old was involved in an accident at 6.55pm yesterday on High Street, Easington Lane, 25 metres south of the roundabout with Elemore Lane.

He was travelling north when he collided with a Skoda car which was turning in the road, and then hit a parked car.

The rider suffered serious leg injuries and was taken to James Cook Hospital.

He remains in hospital, where his condition is described as stable.

The road was closed for two hours to enable police to examine the scene.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the accident.
