TOUCHING tributes have been left to the Wearside cyclist who died following a bus crash.
Les Turnbull, 45, died after the bike he was riding collided with the Go North East No.8 bus on a slip road to the A1231 road in the Barmston area of Washington on Thursday morning.
Emergency services rushed to the accident but Mr Turnbull was pronounced dead at the scene.
A number of bouquets of flowers have been left at the scene where he died.
One tribute read: “Fondest memories of a legend not just in my eyes but to everyone who knew you.
“It’s going to be hard not seeing you every day and having a crack on.
“You’ve been there for me all my life, guiding and helping me.
“It’s like I’ve lost me dad and best friend.
“Never will I forget you.
“Love you always pal, Stu x.”
Another card read: “Was a pleasure to have known such a lovely, caring person.
“Our thoughts are with all family and friends.
“All our love, Ross, Steph, Jack and the Parkin family x.”
Northumbria Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision, which happened at about 7.40am on Thursday, to call the non-emergency 101 line.
