A TEENAGER from Peterlee was among the successful recruits on parade at HMS Raleigh to mark the successful end of basic training.
Trainee Air Engineering Technician Jamie Keen, 18, arrived at the Royal Navy training base in Cornwall in May.
During a 10-week course, he has been given a thorough induction into the Royal Navy,.
The former St Bedes Comprehensive pupil said: “Training is what you make it. It has been very challenging and demanding, but I feel so proud to have finally completed the course, and I look forward to my future in the Royal Navy.”
Jamie will now transfer to HMS Sultan, Hampshire, where he will learn how to carry out scheduled maintenance, pre and post-flight servicing and inspections for the Fleet Air Arm’s helicopters.
