Frazier has been announced as the winner after readers voted in their droves to our Cute Kids challenge, which was open to families with newborns and children aged up to five.

Mum Vicky Brown, 26, who works in the payroll department at Vantec, and dad Gary Richardson, 27, who works for Supertune Automotive in Team Valley, were delighted to find their little one had won.

Vicky, from Thorney Close, said: “We’re over the moon, I can’t believe it.

“I’d been thinking about it because I’d not heard who’d won, and I’m a bit surprised.

“I’ve been asking all the girls at work to text in.

“My mum’s been telling everybody on the bus she gets at 9.30am everyday.”

Vicky and her auntie Yvonne Smith, 50, from Pennywell, took then eight-month-old Frazier along to the photo session held at Debenhams in Sunderland and had to make a second attempt to have his picture taken after he got the grumps.

Vicky’s cousin Graham Smith, who is now 30 and a crane driver, is a previous winner when he was pictured as a toddler.

His family have won a canvas print of the winning picture, a family meal voucher courtesy of Frankie & Benny’s and £100 in cash.

The Echo’s managing editor Gavin Foster said: “Once again, the competition in our Cute Kids contest was tough.

“It’s great to see families joining in.

“We know they’re always excited to see their baby in the paper and hold on to copies to bring out or put in photo albums.

“Congratulations to Frazier and his family, it’s clear why he’s a winner.”
