NORTH East care providers were celebrated at an award ceremony.
Durham County Council’s Awards for Personalisation 2012 were presented at the Gala Theatre, in Durham City.
The annual honours celebrate excellence across the care and support sector, recognising those organisations that give people the most say in decisions about their care.
Winners included the Stroke Association, Rayson Homes Limited, MLH Community Care and Support, BID Services and Creative Support.
Councillor Morris Nicholls, Durham County Council’s cabinet member for adult services, presented the awards.
“The idea of giving people as much choice and control as possible over their care is now a key part of the council’s approach to adult care,” he said. “These awards recognise the importance of the role care providers play.”
