STAFF and residents at a care home are appealing for donations of decorations to help their Titanic-themed party stay afloat.
The Albany Care Home, in Albany Way, Washington – which specialises in care for Alzheimer’s patients – will hold a garden party on Saturday, April 14.
Care home manager Vicky Gates said: “There will be a band performing from 3pm, as well as professional ballroom dancers and traditional afternoon tea will be served.”
The style of party was the residents’ idea, with it being the centenary of the sinking of the Titanic which was on its maiden voyage from Southampton to New York, and they hope people will go along to their special event.
Philippa Turner, care home assistant, said: “Other local sheltered care homes have been invited and anyone else is welcome.
“We are hoping for a good turnout.”
