THREE people have been arrested in connection with the death of a couple killed in their home.

Stephen Seddon, who is also known as Nic, of Benevente Street, Seaham, faces trial in February after the 46-year-old denied the murder and attempted murder of his parents Bob, 68, and Patricia, 65.

They were found shot at their house in Sale, Manchester, on July 6.

The attempted murder charge relates to an incident in March, where the car the family were in crashed into a canal in the city, with the couple’s businessman son hailed a hero for helping to recue them from the sinking BMW.

Now Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have arrested a 26-year-old Seaham man on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

Detectives are also questioning a 55-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman, also from Seaham, who have been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

GMP have confirmed the three are being held at police stations in County Durham.
