This selection of tranquil scenes from around the region and further afield comes courtesy of Simon Paterson
PEACE and quiet is the theme for this week’s Friday Photos, featuring scenes from the country, coast and some curious creatures.
They’ve been sent it by Simon Paterson, who is a member of Washington Camera Club.
Simon joined the club about a year ago when he started to learn about digital photography and as you can tell by these photos, his favourite subjects are landscape and wildlife.
Many thanks to Simon for taking part in Friday photos – if you’d like to follow in his footsteps and see your work highlighted in the Echo, see the information at the bottom of the page and get involved.
We’re looking for photographers with any level of experience, and any style of photography – the more varied the better!
Maybe you got a camera for Christmas and you’ve been out and about? If you think you’ve captured something great, let us see it.
Would you like to have your work featured in Friday Photos? If so, we’d love to hear from you. We want photos on any theme, whether it’s landscapes or people, events or wildlife. All you have to do is send some examples of your work – about 12 or 13 – and some details about yourself – such as your age, name, occupation, interests and hobbies – plus a photograph of yourself. Email firstname.lastname@example.org or send photos on a disc to Sunderland Echo, Friday Photos, Features Department, Echo House, Pennywell, Sunderland, SR4 9ER. Sorry, but discs can’t be returned.
IMPORTANT: We’ll only be able to print photos that are of a high resolution. Please keep this in mind before sending any work.
Taken a great shot but don’t have enough images for Friday Photos? Send it to email@example.com and it could appear on the letters page or Page 2, where we print readers’ photos every day.
