AN Olympic Flame celebration will take place in the North East.
It will be held on Friday, August 24, at Beamish museum, from 5pm to 8pm.
The celebration will host a flame, lit from the English Flame in London earlier that day.
The evening will showcase a variety of disability sport projects from every council area in the region, including demonstrations and taster sessions for wheelchair football, archery, cycling and boccia.
The evening will also feature a cultural showcase including an exhibition of 1972 Olympic posters, on loan from Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums, an International Peace Quilt and an interactive exhibit demonstrating how our bodies work during sport, activity, movement and rest.
The celebration is a free ticketed event with a restricted capacity of 3,200.
Tickets are available through http://northeastflamecelebration.eventbrite.co.uk.
