TWO 15-year-old boys have been charged with assaulting a police community support officer.
As reported in the Echo, two officers were left with minor facial injuries after they were trying to make an arrest in Front Street, Shiney Row, just before 5pm on Wednesday.
Two teenage boys have now been charged with assaulting a community support officer in the execution of their duty.
One of the boys has also been charged with obstructing or resisting a police constable in the execution of their duty.
The pair will appear at Sunderland Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, August 16.
